Seems like most of my time these days is spent playing
with my daughter. But, occasionally, I find time to enjoy a few
hobbies.
- Ice Hockey - I just wish I had started playing 15
years ago instead of four years ago. I play in a
couple of local recreational leagues. No checking is
allowed, but that's not to say there's no contact.
There is plenty of that. Check out my meager
Greater Seattle Hockey League stats.
Keep in mind that I play Defense, and most of my assists
never get recorded. (They always seem to get my
penalty minutes, though).
- Aviation - I got my pilot's license during my,
ahem, "employment hiatus" in 2002. It's a
time-consuming and expensive pursuit, however, so I haven't
done any flying in quite some time.
-
Wings Aloft at
Boeing Field is the FBO
where I pursued my license.

Here's a picture of me after passing the FAA checkride
to get my license:

- Woodworking - I took a fantastic woodworking
class in 2002. I wish I had the space to set up my own
shop to keep the skills from getting rusty.
-
Seattle Central Community College Woodworking Program
offers four and five-quarter programs in
Construction, Boatbuilding and Cabinetry & Fine
Woodworking. I only took the first quarter
introductory course, and it was great. There is
generally a 1-2 year waiting list to get into the
Boatbuilding and Cabinetry disciplines.
